Two-hour private Handbuilding or Wheel Throwing Lessons for 1-5 kids

Our two-hour private lessons for kids (or 1 ½ hour class and the last ½ hour reserved for refreshments or party) provide instruction for newcomers to clay or children seeking focused time with an experienced instructor who will support their clay making goals and help hone their skills. Private lessons are also great as a family activity, small friend group of kids, or birthday party. For a group of 6 or more, please refer to the Private Events/Parties.

  • Included in the cost is the firing and finishing of ONLY 1 piece per child. Up to 3 pieces for the birthday child

  • Our staff will trim, fire, glaze, and fire again your pieces to be ready for pick up in 4-5 weeks. If you are scheduling a series, you will work with your instructor and our student firing system.

  • PRIVATE LESSON Cancellation Policy:

    To request a cancellation and full refund minus a $50 processing fee or to reschedule your event, you must contact us in writing within 48 hours prior to your lesson. Within 24 hours of the scheduled lesson, there will be no refunds for cancellations or no-shows. Email Education@clayspacebk.com with your cancellation request.

Handbuilding or Wheel Throwing Private Event with an instructor for 6+ kids

The Clay Play Party/Event Package includes a 2 hour class for kids (or 1 ½ hour class and the last ½ hour reserved for refreshments or party.) You will be responsible for bringing and setting up all party supplies and food (table cloth, cups, plates, napkins, forks, etc.) as Clay Space will not provide these. 

Groups up to 8 participants for a total of 2 hours:

    • COST : $675 for 6-8 kids

    • Additional $50 per child, up to 10 kids in the HB room

  • Groups up to 8 participants for a total of 2 hours:

    • COST: $760 for 6-8 kids

    • Additional $60 per child, up to 12 kids in Wheel Room

  • The cost includes firing and finishing of 1 ONLY 1 piece per child. Up to 3 pieces for the birthday child. Finished pieces will be ready for pick up in 4-5 weeks.

    A 50% deposit is required to hold the reservation with the balance due 3 days prior to the event date. 

  • - For Hand building parties, the minimum age is 5+ up to 15 without adult supervision and 4 years old with an adult. 

    - For Wheel Throwing parties, the minimum age is 10+ up to 15. A mixture of adults and children is also welcome.

    - The package includes 1 ½ hour of instruction with the last ½ hour reserved for refreshments or parties, or simply 2 hours of class and no party. You will be responsible for bringing and setting up all party supplies and food (table cloth, cups, plates, napkins, forks, etc.) as Clay Space will not provide these. An additional ½ hour can be added for $150 to extend the teaching or socializing time.

  • EVENT OR PARTY Cancellation Policy:

Kids Paint A Pot Package

A fun and creative experience for kids to decorate with underglazes on a mixture of forms that will then be fired with clear glaze, providing one-of-a-kind treasures.

Groups up to 8 participants for a total of 1 ½ hours:

  • $525 for 6-8 kids; $25 each additional kid

  • 5+ without adult supervision up to 15 years old. 4 years old with an adult.

  • The cost includes firing and finishing of 1 ONLY 1 piece per child. Up to 3 pieces for the birthday child. Finished pieces will be ready for pick up in 3-4 weeks.

    A 50% deposit is required to hold the reservation with the balance due 3 days prior to the event date.
